Inspired by investigations into the hidden African history of Lisbon, this work focuses on the contemporary presence of Black communities inside the former colonial metropole. The series relies on the portrait to construct a visual archive. The images connect encounters on the street or nightclub to the wider horizon of the Atlantic coast, linking personal history directly to the sea.
